Each year their members are given a themed "Challenge" and are asked to produce art to that theme. This year they were given "Fashion" as the theme - just for 12th Street Shoes. Milan Shoe Show

I still can't believe that we are actually here in Milan at the shoe show. This place is pretty overwhelming. There are at least 10 buildings filled with shoes an another 3 more filled with handbags. The shoes are all to die for. There are quite a few with 5in or taller heels. Not quite right for our store but pretty fun to look at.

Still haven't figured out quite how to bring the shoes home and how to work out the pricing. We will be able to have some brands that are maybe carrying in one other store in the US. How fun is that! Everything here is in Euros and then you have to convert and add a tariff to the pricing. Makes it a bit confusing.

The Italian Trade Commission is treating us very well. The hotel is beautiful. The meals are excellent and their staff is quite wonderful. This is a once in a lifetime experience. I am so thankful I was able to come.

Fashion Show Recap!

A good time was had by all at the Wild & Woolly Fashion show on Thursday. Big thank you Dax Alpaca for providing the beautiful sweaters for the models to wear and also to Kelli at Studio Beausoleil for air brush tanning all the gals. They looked fabulous!

Boots & Fall Styles

I can't believe that boot season is upon us already! Fall 2010 is going to be great for boots. Western influences are going to be huge! Distressed leathers and of course everyone's favorite...the shoe bootie! Along with boots, stirrup pants are going to be making a comeback, Who would of thought we would see those again in our lifetime. Skinny jeans are still in and stirrups just make them easier to keep in your boots. You are going to lots of layering of tights and socks. All of it worn with skirts - I love these looks. Next time I will post some pics of how to wear the shoe bootie - that is one of our most asked questions.

It is so exciting when we get in new shoes! We order them at least 6 months in advance so by the time they arrive - most of us have forgotten what they look like. What a treat to open the boxes from UPS & Fed-Ex. It's Christmas!!!
